Notre Dame De Paris

I admit I was never a book-lover as a kid, but The Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of the book I read and liked. Therefore I was quite excited when my dad booked Notre Dame De Paris Musical.
The musical starts with a poet Gringoire singing “The Age of the Cathedrals”,which is my favorite song from the musical, and beautiful Esmeralda dances with the gypsies. To be honest, the first twenty to thirty minutes were a little bit boring-which happens all the time to me in books to movies-. What caught my real attention was Quasimodo’s voice. It was magnificent; It represented his deep love and agonies. I looked him up as soon as I came home, and realized he was the most popular original cast of Notre Dame De Paris.
Not only I could not understand some parts of the songs, but also had to lift my head all the time because of one giant-headed audience in front of me. Despite the not-so-comfortable condition, I was captivated to not miss a single part of the musical. I think it was because of the Priest. He added tension to the story. His- the person who has most patience- inner conflict after being ‘bewitched’ by Esmeralda(I want this name now) emphasizes how beautiful and irresistible she is.
Every song sung told stories without losing its rhythmical values. I probably will go out and buy the CD, especially because of ‘The Age of the Cathedrals’, which was the very first song sung and the finale song.
ALWAYS

Title: Always 오직 그대만
Director: Song Il Gon 송일곤
Finally watched it after being grilled by my friend, and I wish I watched it earlier.
The movie starts as an ex-boxer and a blind girl meets. The storyline might sound trite, but the director did an awesome job at making this story interesting, fresh, yet touching. It is still somewhat unrealistic, but fantasy is what makes movies sweet to watch! So ji sup is somewhat of a typical, unrealistic boy character in Korean fictions, who boxes and did-bad-stuff-but-not-now, but for some reason, this childishness is what makes this movie more appealing and simply beautiful.
I can hear her coming. It echoes in my hear
Not to mention the Romeo and Juliet quote Han Hyo Ju mentions.
그녀의 눈은 말을 하고 있구나. 나는 대답을 해야지
Her eye discourses. I will answer it.
Han Hyo Ju wrote this quote in braille on her laptop, which is ironic and shows her desire to see the world.
After all, this movie has a bit of childishness and fantasy like other romance movies, but it is just right amount of them that makes this movie even more touching and memorable.♥
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

I have spent last 3 or more weeks with this book not because it was boring but because I had no breadth of mind to read. This book went through quite a lot with me! I mean, while reading this book, I graduated high school.
At the very beginning, I regretted buying this book as my first kindle edition. There was too much to absorb: Long and mystery-looking Swedish names and boring employees. I was not intrigued to keep reading, but when I forced myself to do so, I started to WANT to absorb all the information. I was, and still am, infatuated with Lisbeth Salander, an intelligent girl with photographic memory. She had gone through so much unfairness that nobody deserves, and learned to survive. Her past is what makes her so firm and strong. One thing that makes her even more attractive is a twist of cuteness and innocence readers see when she falls in love with Blomvkist.
Other than Lisbeth Salander, the message the author is conveying is another reason why I love this book.
“Because it’s so easy” h said. “Women disappear all the time. Nobody misses them. Immigrants. Whores from Russia. Thousands of people pass through Sweden every year.
This book deals with inhumane crimes women face in Sweden and the unmet compensation. There are statistics of rapes and other crimes targeting women on each chapter, which emphasizes author’s point to raise awareness.
I found myself very attached to the characters while reading this book; I screamed with joy when Salander revenged to Bjurman, and I was so gratified when Millenium destroyed Wennerstorm.
This book is a fascinating read that is different from any other crime or thriller book I’ve read. I plan on reading the next one, The Girl Who Played with Fire, but before I want to read something else just so that I read it when I miss Salander.
